This year’s Annual Membership Meeting of the Tamarack Shores Owners Association had an excellent turnout, with what was likely the highest attendance at an Annual Membership Meeting in the past six years. As property owners began arriving and the line to sign in continued to grow, it was encouraging to see so many neighbors taking an active interest in the future of our community. It was a wonderful reminder that Tamarack Shores is more than just a place to live—it’s a community of people who care about where they live and want to help make it even better.
Proposed Bylaw Amendments
One of the most important items discussed during the meeting was the proposed amendments to our current Bylaws. As many of you know, the proposed amendments were included in the mailing sent last month along with your annual dues statement, giving property owners an opportunity to review them before the meeting. Each proposed amendment was read aloud, followed by an open forum where Members had the opportunity to ask questions, request clarification, and discuss the proposed changes before the vote was taken. In accordance with our current Bylaws, amendments may only be voted on by Members present at the Annual Membership Meeting, which is held each year on the fourth Saturday in July. The Bylaws also require that proposed amendments receive the approval of at least two-thirds (2/3) of the Members voting at the meeting in order to be adopted. Following the discussion, the Membership voted on the proposed amendments. The final vote showed that 96% of the Members present voted in favor of adopting the proposed amendments, while 4% voted against the amendments. Because the proposal received well above the required two-thirds (2/3) approval, the amendments were adopted in accordance with the requirements of the Bylaws.
Board Elections and Committee Update
The next order of business was filling the two vacant positions on the Board of Directors. We were pleased to receive two nominations from the floor, Charlene Carpenter and Melody Hobbs. Both candidates were elected by a unanimous vote of the Membership. Congratulations to our newest Board members, and thank you for your willingness to serve our community. We appreciate your commitment and look forward to working together as we continue to move Tamarack Shores forward. We were also pleased to introduce the newest member of the Architectural Control Committee, Jim Blaszak. Jim has already shown a genuine interest in helping preserve the character of Tamarack Shores, and we are excited to welcome him to the committee. We appreciate his willingness to volunteer his time and look forward to working with him.
Entrance Monument Project
Finally, we are excited to share that construction of the new Tamarack Shores Entrance Monument is scheduled to begin later this week. This project has been in the planning stages for quite some time, and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience while we carefully worked through the design process. Our goal has always been to create an entrance monument that reflects the history and character of Tamarack Shores while honoring the vision of the community’s founders. One of the things that made this project especially meaningful was having the opportunity to visit with several long-time residents who have been here since the early days of Tamarack Shores. Their memories and recollections helped us better understand what the original entrance looked like and provided valuable insight as we worked toward a design that closely reflects the original footprint. Looking Ahead
As we move forward, we want to thank everyone who continues to support Tamarack Shores by volunteering, attending meetings, serving on committees, sharing ideas, and simply being good neighbors. Every contribution—big or small—helps strengthen our community. Whether you’ve lived here for many years or have recently joined our neighborhood, your involvement is valued, your voice matters, and together we can continue building a community we are all proud to call home. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at future meetings and community events.
