Good Morning Residents of Tamarack Shores,
As many of you may know that the storm from Friday night caused damage for many residents. As I drove through the streets of Tamarack Shores, at first glance I did not see issues that caused a great deal of damage. Most of what I saw was trees that had fallen, split in half or uprooted and branches scattered among the yards. That observation does not mean that some had unseen damage to the naked eye but the Board of Directors hope and pray for all our residents. As a community the most obvious damage we received was our “Tamarack Shores” marquee/sign at the entrance. It was a terrible loss to us all given that the Board of Directors had just completed their improvements on it. We have already reached out to the appropriate parties involved to have it inspected and a claim has been filed with our insurance company. We are hoping for the best so that we can begin cleaning up the area. We will also begin researching what is the best design to replace our marquee and factoring its ability to withstand the various forces of Nature that we will encounter now and in the future. The Board of Directors will update our community as information is available to us.
During this terrible storm and the day after there were many posts on other platforms regarding “lost” pets. These sweet fur babies were most likely confused and scared, seeking shelter anyway they could find it. So, consider this piece another “Public Service Announcement”. IF you have fur baby that lives outdoors, please remember to bring them inside to protect and shield them OR provide a shelter that would keep them dry and warm. Least we not forget that we do have wild life that we share this space with and leaving any of our fur babies out or allowing them to roam freely within the community is dangerous for them as well as against the Comal County laws. There are signs posted throughout our community that explain what the consequences are IF your pet is picked up by Comal County Animal Control. By being a responsible pet owner you are saving your fur babies life and keeping them from creating “new life” with other loose pets. Personally I have never been without a pet my entire life and have always made their needs a priority. I ask nothing more from my fellow humans that I am not willing to do myself. (Off soapbox now).
Lastly, while we have no monthly meetings in November & December, the Board of Directors remains committed to work behind the scenes to help create a safer place for us to life.
