Greetings, Residents of Tamarack Shores!
It has been a while since our last update on the “Community News & Updates” page. In case you missed it, our Annual National Night Out event was held on October 7th, and we had a wonderful turnout. Attendees appeared to have a delightful time, enjoying a variety of offerings. Mike and Shireen generously provided hot dogs and cheeseburgers, complemented by an array of side dishes, fresh fruit, and desserts kindly donated by the attending residents. Deputy Hernandez spent the entire evening with us and even helped out with the set up. She truly set the example of what commitment to unity within a community was. The event featured lively music, engaging conversations with neighbors, and even a small gift giveaway. Please take a moment to check out a few photos from the event under the new section entitled “Local businesses”.
This gathering also signifies the conclusion of another pool season. We hope to discuss the possibility of extending the pool’s availability for additional months in the coming year. We would greatly appreciate your feedback, so we encourage you to attend the next meeting scheduled for October 20th at 7 p.m. in the park/pool area. This will be the final TSOA meeting before the November/December holiday season. If you have any topics you would like to add to the agenda, please send an email to: tamarackshorespresident@gmail.com.
There is one last topic I wanted to share with the residents, a PSA (Public Service Announcement) so to speak. We have discussed it before many times; Comal County Laws regarding domestic pets. Condensed version of my personal account: My daughter and I came home from work in the early evening only to find that there was a dog attack taking place. Let me preface that I am not “pointing any fingers, or assigning blame” as to how this horrific event came to be. More so I felt it important to address the fact that it was a dangerous situation taking place, people were hurt during the attack, I put myself in this dangerous situation between two dogs while trying to stop the attack and my daughter suffered great emotional strife, listening to the screams and cries for help from her Mom, dogs growling, yelping out in pain and the absolutely devastating emotional trauma suffered by the pet owner. That whole weekend, we had nightmares and reoccurring visions of what we saw . Thankfully, my mind found some peace when both of the pet owners let me know that their beloved pets would survive this attack. As lifelong pet owners, we have always followed the laws to keep our family pets safe, happy and healthy as well as giving them a fenced in area that kept them free from any harm. On that note, please remember the laws of Comal County, the fines that can be imposed and most importantly, the protection and well being of your own family pets.
