Good Morning Residents of Tamarack Shores! Here are a few highlights from the Annual Meeting and August 25th monthly Meeting. At the Annual Meeting there was an election for the two vacant seats on the Board of Directors. We had two residents volunteer their time to be a part of the Board, Charlene Carpenter and Melody Hobbs. We are thrilled to announce they were both voted in unanimously! We are so happy for them to join the Board of Directors, both bring years of experience and wisdom from their careers and we look forward to working with them as we continue to “work together” for our community. The Board of Directors is also happy to announce that James Blaszak is the new Architectural Control Committee Chairperson! Mr. Blaszak also brings wealth of experience to this role and has graciously volunteers his time to being an integral part of building a stronger community! We also have two open spots on the ACC committee, so if you are interested, please let us know, we are sure Mr. Blaszak would welcome the help.
This year’s Annual Meeting had a record number of attendees and it simply reflects that many residents were interested in learning about some of the issues being addressed. One of the most important issues was the amendment to the Bylaws. A long time Board Director reviewed the information and provided a detailed description of each amendment that needed to be amended. Approximately 96% of the property owners in attendance voted in favor of the proposed bylaw amendment, with approximately 4% voting against it.
Another issue that was addressed was the update on the Entrance Monument. The Board of Directors worked together diligently on this project. The first thing that was considered was the design. Several members of the Board researched different styles either by driving around the Canyon Lake area or scouring the internet for design options, all ideas were discussed in depth. Another driving factor behind making this decision was cost. Every decision made by the Board is guided by its fiduciary responsibility to protect the Association’s assets, maintain its financial stability, and act in the best interests of the entire Tamarack Shores community. The Board believes that a strong community begins with supporting one another. Whenever possible, the Association seeks to work with qualified local contractors and independently owned businesses, recognizing that many are small, family-operated businesses that rely on community support. These partnerships help strengthen our local economy while providing valuable services to the Association. The Board of Directors did find a new design that is well suited for our area and the construction began in July and the project is ongoing. We appreciate our communities patience and understanding during this time.
At the August Board Meeting, the Board of Directors briefly recapped the highlights from the July Annual Meeting before addressing one of its most important items of business—the election of a Vice President. For those who may not be familiar with the process, officer positions are elected by and from the current members of the Board of Directors. Two Board members, Melody Hobbs and Heather Sopoci, were nominated for the position. Following the nomination process and a vote of the Board, Heather Sopoci was elected to serve as Vice President of the Tamarack Shores Property Owners Association. The Board of Directors congratulates Heather Sopoci on her election as Vice President and looks forward to working together as the Board continues serving the Tamarack Shores community. The Board also extends its sincere appreciation to Melody Hobbs for her willingness to serve and for her continued commitment to our community.
